Frequently Asked Questions

I’m not sure which service is right for me, or I don’t see the service I am looking for?

Please send me an email at samanthahenke@writeforwardcoaching.com with a brief description of your work and what service you are looking for. I will let you know which service best fits your needs, build a package for you, and send you a quote, or refer you to a coach who can better serve you.

How experienced of a writer do I need to be to work with you?

I work with any level of experience!

What genres do you work with?

I am most well-versed in mystery, thriller, contemporary, historical fiction, magical realism, romance, christian fiction, upmarket fiction, and women’s fiction; however, I am open to other genres. The only genres I will not work with are horror, epic fantasy, steampunk, and sci-fi.

Will my book idea remain mine? Do you share any information about my work with anyone else?

I am here to help you make your work the best it can be, but the work is entirely yours. I never share information about my clients or their work without express permission. If I am unable to answer a question for you, I will ask before consulting any other Author Accelerator certified coaches.

Can you guarantee that I will land an agent, publisher, or become a best seller?

No, I cannot make any guarantees of that nature. The publishing industry is subjective and unpredictable. If a coach or editor is making those kinds of promises, they are scamming you.

How are you qualified to help me? Are you a published author?

I am certified in fiction book coaching by Author Accelerator. I completed an exhausted training course and demonstrated my ability to coach The Blueprint for A Book, developmentally edit a full manuscript, research agents, and develop a pitch package with real clients. All of my work was submitted to a certification team to review and decide whether or not to certify me.

I am not a published author because, although I enjoy writing, being an author is not my goal. I have always found much more interest and satisfaction in editing and helping others with their writing than doing my own writing. Editing and coaching are a different skill sets than writing and simply being a published author doesn't necessarily mean that person can coach or edit others well. I have a BS from Texas Tech, freelance edited and written content for business websites. I also used to run a book review website, which I closed to focus on certification training.
